Measurement task
Photovoltaic and energy storage equipment includes DC inputs, bidirectional charge/discharge paths and AC outputs. Testing should distinguish slowly varying operating current, superimposed ripple and switching transients, using corresponding voltage signals to understand operating conditions. Multichannel records need clearly defined measurement points and time alignment.
Selection considerations
Long-term monitoring emphasizes drift, power supply and output interface, while waveform analysis emphasizes frequency response and acquisition capability. DIN-rail mounting, conductor clearance and multichannel configuration also affect the setup. Check sensors, conditioning equipment and acquisition instruments separately; the rated range alone does not characterize the complete chain.
DC operating point and AC ripple
At the photovoltaic input and energy storage branch, distinguish average current from superimposed ripple. The storage branch must also cover both charging and discharging directions. At the inverter AC output, attention shifts to phase currents and load changes. If DC sensors and AC probes are used separately, identify which signal components each covers; an AC probe output does not represent the complete branch current.
