Measurement task
Testing associated with MRI gradient systems concerns the relationship between current waveforms and control feedback. Tasks may include operational recording, dynamic response analysis and sensor performance comparison. Define whether results support development observation or feedback verification, then determine bandwidth, output and recording requirements from the system specification.
Selection considerations
Select zero-flux sensors with attention to offset, linearity, temperature effects and long-term stability, rather than relying on one stated accuracy figure. Power supply, output load and acquisition inputs also affect overall performance. Model suitability must be confirmed against equipment requirements and manufacturer documentation; a general product description does not establish medical performance.
Current feedback in gradient amplifiers
Repeatability, offset and drift of gradient amplifier drive current are relevant measurement considerations. If a sensor is used in the feedback chain, the system designer must check response and interface conditions. For external development measurements, define the acquisition objective and comparison reference. A relevant measurement application does not automatically establish compliance with the complete requirements of a particular medical device.
